With the DJ gear series that is called The Core, DAP Audio have released a really nice starter range of products for the starting DJ. Among these is this Mix-4 USB, a four-channel DJ mixer with built-in MP3 module with which you can play back audio from and record to a USB stick or SD card. Furthermore, this mixer has two independent USB audio interfaces and even two separate microphone channels. The Mix-4USB is also equipped with a stereo effect send and return for the creative manipulating of external effects. How extensive can one unit be?

Characteristics of the Mix-4 USB mixer

The Mix-4USB is an ideal DJ mixer for the large-scale channel consumer! Up to four sources can be mixed with one another simultaneously. Also, a sizeable collection of CD players and turntables can be connected simultaneously via the 12 analogue inputs. To completely finish the picture, the mixer also has two independent microphone channels with an extensive EQ and talkover function! Ideal for the party jocky or MC. Do you like to work with effects? That is no problem either. Each channel is equipped with an effect-send rotary knob and a 45mm collective effect return fader is also present. Use a separate effects module and add some extras to your mix!

Finish and features of the Mix-4 USB

The Mix-4USB has a stylish black finish with dark blue accents. Large LED VU meters provide you with extensive information about the incoming signal per channel. The master output is provided with a sizeable double LED VU meter. Other impressive features includes the freely assignable crossover settings per channel. Assign a channel to section A or B, or send it directly to the master. Thanks to the built-in MP3 player with USB-stick and SD-card compatibility, you will always have a back-up player handy if anything goes wrong. It can also come in handy with requests.

Wrote the following about DAP CORE Mix-4 USB DJ Mixer

De DAP Core 4 usb mixer is een overzichtelijk apparaat waarop voldoende externe apparaten kunnen worden aangesloten, zoals pick-ups, mini discplayer en uiteraard de pc, en twee microfoons.
De faders zijn soepel en het geluid is goed in te stellen, en per kanaal te regelen. Nauwkeurige leds en goede microfoonregeling. De geluidskwaliteit is prima.
Ik gebruik deze mixer als amateur radiomaker en ben tevreden over het gebruik van de DAP core.
De USB/SD Card optie is echter teleurstellend, het direct opnemen is absoluut onvoldoende, Afspelen van een USB stick, die is opgenomen op een ander apparaat is overigens wel OK.
Drie maanden na ingebruikname, bij normaal gebruik, trad er een defect op in de output van de "master"deze storing wordt door de firma Bax, meteen, deskundig opgelost.
Blijft staan dat het een kwalitatief goede mixer is om mee te werken.
