Meinl's PMDJ2-S-G Travel Series Djembe is both small and exceptionally lightweight. As it's made of high-quality synthetic material it is about 20% lighter than a fibreglass djembe, making it very easy to take it with you, wherever you go. The 8-inch drumhead is made of specially selected goat skin, to give the drum a warm sound, while the shell is 16 inches deep, keeping the djembe nice and manageable in size.

Tuning mechanism

As we mentioned before, Meinl fitted the PMDJ2-S-G with a high-quality goatskin drumhead. This head enhances the Travel Series Djembe's playing comfort and gives it a natural look. Furthermore, thanks to Meinl's special tuning mechanism, tuning the drum is a quick and easy affair, and can even be done while you're playing. With rich, deep bass tones and penetrating slaps, this djembe has a beautiful, traditional sound, while its colourful exterior is quite striking indeed. This is a great djembe for both beginners and professionals.
