General
Originally from Africa, the djembe is usually made of wood. The Toca TF2DJ-12T Freestyle II Rope Tuned Djembe, Thinker 12-inch has a synthetic shell. And where traditionally animal skin is used, synthetic material has been chosen for this model. This makes this djembe insensitive to differences in temperature and humidity. Moreover, it is lightweight and the skin stays on tight. For that tension, an authentic rope tension is used; a very stable way of tuning.
Toca TF2DJ-12T: special appearance
Another advantage of plastic: it can easily be given a colour. In this case, two shades of red were chosen as a base with gold-coloured, African motifs on top. This finish has been named Thinker. And the rubber ring at the foot has also been well thought out. This prevents slipping, even when tilted. Toca's Freestyle djembe's patented design delivers deep bass tones and sharp slaps.
