Toca TF2DM-12S Freestyle II Mech. Tuned Djembe, Spirit 12 inches

General

The djembe was originally made of wood, but Toca has made the Freestyl II series from modern materials without sacrificing sound. Plastic has been used to make the shell, making it lighter than wood. Instead of an animal skin, a synthetic skin has been used for the TF2DM-12S. This skin does not stretch, does not dry out and, thanks to the metal tensioning edge and bolts, always remains at good tension. The pitch is easily adjusted with a tuning key. The Spirit finish features the colours yellow, red and green, inspired by the Rastafari movement.

Unique design

The Freestyle II djembe's unique design is patented and delivers deep bass tones and sharp, high slaps. The TF2DM has a field diameter of 12 inches (30.5 cm) and a height of 24 inches (61 cm). A rubber anti-slip rim is attached to the base, which, together with the materials used for bowl and sheet, ensures that this djembe can be used in all conditions. Although the cheerful colours suit warm sunshine best, this drum can also be played in the rain.
