The compact Toca TODJ-7AM 7-inch Origin Series Djembe African Mask stays true to its origins. This stylish wooden djembe features a fine sample of decorative carvings. Moreover, the TODJ-7AM is made sustainably. The djembe is carved from a single piece of mahogany sourced from an eco-friendly tree plantation. And to ensure consistent sound and regular thickness, each TODJ-7AM is treated on the lathe.
Toca left nothing to chance during the design phase of this djembe. The inside of the bowl, for instance, features grooves and a rough surface texture. This creates a deep, rich bass without unwanted high overtones. The authentic construction with rope tensioning system and a carefully selected goatskin sheet completes the full sound. The low weight and rock solid construction make this djembe very suitable for children and for use in drum circles, among other things.
