It's easy to deduce the origins of this striking Toca TODJ-8AM 8-inch Origins series djembe African Mask, as it features traditional decorative carvings all over the body. To spare the environment, the TODJ-8AM is manufactured in an eco-friendly fashion. Its carved from a single, solid piece of mahogany that is specially grown on an environmentally friendly plantation. Furthermore, as Toca is home to many perfectionists, every TODJ-8AM is lathed to make sure the thickness -and therefore the sound - is as consistent as possible.
TODJ-8AM: precision cutting
When you play the TODJ-8AM, you're treated to a warm and rich array of bass tones. As the inside of the bowl features lathed grooves and rough surfaces, the rich bass tones are free from any unwanted overtones as well. Finally, the picture is completed by the classic rope tuned nature of the instrument and its traditional goatskin drumhead. With its lightweight and solid dewsign, this djembe is great for kids and to take along to drum cirlces.
