General
Usually, as your ambitions grow, so does the amount of gear you need. While you may already have a little DMX controller for setting up smaller light shows at your local pub, the Vari-Lite FLX S48 1024 is a prime example of a big-league-bit-of-kit, designed for large venues, theatres, churches and so on. This pro-grade DMX console not only offers a premium hands-on feel and an intuitive design, but 48 faders and a stunning colour display that will get any light-jockey to start salivating instantly - and we can't blame 'em.
The Vari-Lite FLX S48
Granted, huge consoles like the FLX S48 can look a little intimidating. That said, Zero 88 have made sure the unit is by no means difficult to get to grips with. It's essentially a computer in the form a DMX console fitted with a 7" colour touch-screen and a DVI-D input for hooking up an extra external (touch-capacitive) display. In fact, the whole thing is aimed at minimising the time needed to program shows, so controlling and focussing up to 48 fixtures is just as easy as making colour adjustments via the HSV-compatible instant-access colour palettes.
