Hammond is known for its tonewheel organs, such as the B3 - a renowned instrument that's used by many famous musicians. If such a legendary classic is a little beyond your budget, however - popular vintage gear hardly ever comes cheap - you can opt for one of the many available digital models. The XK-3c is a prime example. Manufactured by Hammond themselves, this rewarding workhorse serves you just as well on stage as it does at home.
XK-3C: a unique sound
The sweet and shredding sounds of a Hammond organ would be nothing without the rotating effect of a Leslie speaker. For the XK-3c, the manufacturer has succeeded in emulating that effect in minute detail. You have several presets to choose from - the Leslie 122, 147, 31H 'TallBoy', 722, 760, 825 and Rock (925) models - but that's not all. Seventeen parameters allow you to precisely adjust each model to your personal preferences. Combine that with the keyboard's various drawbars, and you're able to produce just about any possible organ sound.
Pedal and bag
If you're accustomed to playing the organ, you'll know that an expression pedal is a vital part of the experience. Fortunately, this bundle combines the XK-3c with the EXP100F, a rugged expression pedal that you'll enjoy for years. Use it for surging chords, or alternate between quiet and loud parts. A programmable kick switch allows you to activate a specific function of your digital organ, and a comfortable foot rest provides a nice finishing touch. The included soft bag, meanwhile, is indispensable if you frequently take the stage with your Hammond XK-3c.
