General

In collaboration with some renowned cajon players, Sela developed the Cajon Brush 180. Compared to other brands, Sela's brushes are a little heavier, meaning they provide more articulate bass. The name refers to the brush's 180 nylon dowels, which can be adjusted using the two rubber rings. This way, you can vary between accentuated playing (low spread), and classic brush techniques (wide spread). The handles are made of solid maple, and feature a comfortable rubber grip, as well as rubber caps on the bottom, which can also be used to create yet another different sound. In short, the Cajon Brush 180 is incredibly versatile and entirely suitable for use with various percussion instruments besides the cajon, such as frame drums or tambourines.

Deze brushes zijn voor mij niet 'stijf' genoeg. Ze buigen nogal door wat tot vertraging kan leiden bij het drummen. Bij snellere ritmes is het hard werken met de brushes. Ik grijp vaker naar mijn stuggere broomsticks dan naar deze brushes.

Very simple construction and effective to use with the cajon. Simple construction means nothing much can go wrong. The only criticism is that the rubber band holding the nylon strings works itself loose although I only faced this with the 250 so far. I personally find the 180 the ideal sweet spot between the 110 and 250
