Gretsch Drums BK-J483V-ASP Broadkaster VB Anniversary Sparkle

The history of Gretsch's Broadkaster drum kits reads as a true success story. No wonder Gretsch decided to reissue the popular classic! The BK-J483V-ASP is a three-piece shell set consisting of an 18-inch bass drum, a 12-inch tom and a 14-inch floor tom. Thanks to their Anniversary Sparkle finish, the shells instantly conjure up that authentic 1950s Broadkaster feel.

Vintage Build

The Vintage Build hardware of the BK-J483V-ASP shell set is a nod to the past. A rail Consolette tom holder allows you to slide your tom into position on the bass drum, and the legs of the bass drum and floor tom have a great vintage look too. The Remo bass drum head, meanwhile, is attached using special T-rod claw hooks. The three-ply wooden shells are just as thin as they used to be in the old days, and the use of maple and poplar ensures a full sound despite their relatively small size.

Special hoops

The hoops of the toms have been modelled after those from the 1950s, but are much stronger thanks to the use of thicker steel. The wooden hoops of the bass drum have a Satin Classic Maple finish with an Antique Pearl inlay. The bearing edges of the shells have been finished by hand and have a special 30-degree reverse roundover edge, which increases the surface contact between drumhead and shell, resulting in a deep, warm sound.
