General
Gretsch's legendary Broadkaster drum kits from the 1950s are still as popular as ever. No wonder Gretsch decided to treat the classic series to a modern makeover. In this three-piece Standard Build shell set with Antique Pearl finish, old meets new. Just take a look at the modern Gretsch hardware. The shell set answers to the name Classic Heritage, a nod to the impressive history of the Broadkaster series. The configuration of a 22-inch bass drum, a 12-inch tom and a 16-inch floor tom makes the set ideal for rock and fusion, but it's also suitable for other music styles.
Broadkaster Classic Heritage Antique Pearl: hybrid shells
The shells of this gorgeous set are made of two plies of maple with a ply of poplar in between. Just like the old series, the new Broadkaster sets have thin shells that produce a grand, full and warm sound - exactly what you've come to expect from Gretsch - and provide plenty of resonance too. The modern hardware of the shell set includes the Gretsch Tom Mounting System (GTS), which minimises shell contact for optimal resonance. The bass drum is supported by stable USA G9013 telescopic legs and the floor tom is kept firmly in place by its 12.7mm floor tom legs.
Hoops and bearing edges
The 6-ply maple hoops of the bass drum are fitted with a decorative Antique Pearl inlay. The double-flanged hoops of the toms have been modelled after the old models, but are made of a more rugged type of steel. The bearing edges of the shells have been finished with a reverse roundover technique, ensuring optimal surface contact between shell and drumhead for that full, warm, authentic Gretsch sound.
