Gretsch Drums BK-R423-SCP Broadkaster SB Satin Copper Mist

Relive the glorious days of old with Gretsch's reissue of the famous Broadkaster series, a line of drum kits that was quite popular from the 1950s and onwards. The BK-R423-SCP is a three-piece shell set that consists of a 22-inch bass drum, a 12-inch tom and a 16-inch floor tom - a versatile configuration which ensures that the shell set lives up to the demands of modern-day music. The BK-R423-SCP set has been finished with an attractive Satin Copper Mist lacquer.

Modern hardware

The BK-R423-SCP Broadkaster shell set is equipped with Gretsch's modern standard hardware. That means the tom is mounted using the special GTS system, which suspends the tom from its edge, increasing resonance. The thin shells of the Gretsch drum kit are made of two plies of maple with a ply of poplar in between: a combination that delivers a full sound with plenty of lows and resonance. The stability of the set is guaranteed by the modern legs of the bass drum and floor tom.

Classic Heritage Kit

The configuration with a 22-inch bass drum is referred to by Gretsch as the Classic Heritage Kit, an allusion to the classic status of the Broadkaster series. The white Remo bass drum head is decorated with the vintage logo, and the Satin Copper Mist hoops of the bass drum have a reflecting chrome inlay. The bearing edges of the shells have been finished with a reverse roundover technique, which enhances the surface contact between shell and drumhead, resulting in a full sound.
