Gretsch Drums BK-R423V-ASP Broadkaster VB Anniversary Sparkle

General

This Vintage Build Classic Heritage shell set is a reissue of the legendary Gretsch Drums Broadkaster and combines outstanding sound characteristics with a vintage look. The three-piece shell set consists of a 22-inch bass drum, a 12-inch tom and a 16-inch floor tom, and is suitable for various music styles, including rock and fusion. The shells all have a lush Anniversary Sparkle finish.

Broadkaster Vintage Build Classic Heritage: hybrid

The thin shells of the Broadkaster Classic Heritage Anniversary Sparkle shell set have a hybrid character: they are made of two plies of maple with a single ply of poplar in between. This combination of wood types produces a warm, full sound with a well-defined low end. The term Vintage Build refers not only to the shells, but also to the authentic hardware. A distinctive rail Consolette on the bass drum allows you to quickly and easily mount the tom at the right playing position. The 12-inch tom itself features a rugged plate mount with clip, and the floor tom is stably supported by relatively slim 9.5mm legs and fitted with a G4823V vintage diamond clamp. The bass drum is kept securely in place by its USA G4966 vintage bass drum legs.

Hoops and bearing edges

The 6-ply maple bass drum hoops are decorated with a matching Anniversary Sparkle inlay, which adds additional flair to the attractive shell set. The claw hooks of the bass drum are equipped with vintage T-rod tension rods. The double-flanged hoops of the toms have been modelled after classic hoops, but are made from a more rugged type of steel. The bearing edges of the shells have been finished with a reverse roundover technique, ensuring optimal surface contact between shell and drumhead for that full, warm, authentic Gretsch sound.

The classic characteristics of the BK-R423V-ASP shell set are combined with modern technology: all shells are equipped with internal mufflers. The bass drum's muffler is located on the resonant side of the shell.
