General
Gretsch Drums' Broadkaster shell sets were immensely popular in the 1950s and have now been given a modern update. One of the new Broadkaster kits is this durable three-piece BK-J483-AP Anniversary Sparkle Standard Build shell set, a.k.a. the Classic Bomber. Featuring a 24-inch bass drum, a 13 x 9-inch tom and a 16-inch floor tom, the kit is certainly ready to drop some bombs, and it's easy on the eyes too, thanks to a nitron Anniversary Sparkle finish. This high-quality kit is perfect for true rock drummers.
Broadkaster Classic Bomber shell set: thin shells, full sound
The thin shells of this Classic Bomber set consist of two plies of maple with a ply of poplar in between. They produce a full, warm sound and throw in plenty of resonance. The Standard Build Broadkaster kits are equipped with modern hardware, including the Gretsch Tom Mounting System (GTS), which minimises shell contact to allow for optimal resonance. The bass drum has stable USB G9013 telescopic legs, and the floor tom is kept firmly in place by its 12.7mm thick floor tom legs.
Rock shell set
The configuration with a 24 x 14-inch bass drum proudly sports the name Classic Bomber. After all, its sound hits you like a ton of bricks. The authentic Gretsch drum sound cuts right through the mix, both in the studio and on stage. Other remarkable characteristics of the kit include the 6-ply maple bass drum hoops, which are fitted with an Anniversary Sparkle nitron inlay. The bearing edges of the shells have been finished with a reverse roundover technique, ensuring optimal surface contact between shell and drumhead for a full, warm sound.
