Gretsch Drums BK-R443-SCP Broadkaster SB Satin Copper Mist

In the 1950s, Gretsch's Broadkaster drum kits first saw the light of day. They soon became immensely popular, not in the least part thanks to their full and warm sound. For their new Broadkaster series, Gretsch updated the classic drum kits with modern features, but the vintage look has remained. The three-piece BK-R443-SCP rock shell set is part of the Broadkaster Standard Build line and boasts the name Classic Bomber. With a configuration of a 24 x 14-inch bass drum, a 13 x 9-inch tom and a 16 x 16-inch floor tom - all with a beautiful Satin Copper Mist finish - this kit is ready to rock.

Broadkaster Standard Build Classic Bomber: shells

The thin shells of this Classic Bomber set consist of two plies of maple with a ply of poplar in between. This combination of wood types ensures a full and warm sound, and the hybrid shells have great resonating qualities as well. The authentic looks of the kit are complemented with modern hardware, including the Gretsch Tom Mounting System (GTS), a mounting system that minimises shell contact so the tom is able to resonate freely. The bass drum and floor tom are kept firmly in place by stable USA G9013 telescopic bass drum legs and 12.7mm floor tom legs respectively.

Hoops and bearing edges

The 6-ply maple hoops of the bass drum have the same finish as the shell and are fitted with a decorative nitron inlay. The bearing edges of the shells have been finished with a reverse roundover technique, ensuring optimal surface contact between shell and drumhead for that full, warm, authentic Gretsch sound.
