The shell sets from Gretsch's Catalina Club 2014 series are available in various configurations and colours. This four-piece fusion shell set is the CC1-J404-VMP Vintage Pearl, which features a 20-inch bass drum, a 12-inch tom, a 14-inch floor tom and a 14 by 5.5-inch snare drum.

The shells of this four-part fusion shell set are made of 7-ply mahogany, a solid wood type that is often used to manufacture drum kits, as it provides a warm tone and allows for optimal shell resonance. The 30-degree bearing edges of the Catalina Club 2014 Vintage Pearl shells increase the resonating ability of the mahogany, delivering that unique Gretsch sound. The CC1-J404-VMP shell set is supplied with single-ply Remo drumheads.

Catalina Club 2014: new features

This Catalina Club 2014 Vintage Pearl fusion shell set features a number of interesting improvements. It is fitted with Catalina mini lugs and the bass drum is equipped with a round badge-style clamp with memory lock. The new Catalina tom brackets of the 2014 drum kit series feature improved, great-looking T-shaped wingnuts and offer room for an optional 7/8-inch cymbal arm. The hardware is made of durable metal; it is evident that Gretsch value high-quality materials. The floor tom of this Catalina Club 2014 Vintage Pearl shell set is equipped with three adjustable legs, which are fitted with anti-slip rubber caps.
