Gretsch Drums RN1-E604-VP Renown Maple 2014 4-piece shell set VP

During the Musicmesse 2014, Gretsch presented the updated edition of its popular Renown Maple series. Part of that update is this four-piece shell set, which features a white Vintage Pearl finish that creates a classic yet striking look. Comprised of a 20-inch bass drum, two toms measuring 10 and 12 inches and a 14-inch floor tom, the shell set is supplied without hardware and cymbals, but does include practical tom holders that can be mounted on a cymbal stand.

Maple

The 7-ply maple shells of this set are made of two types of maple, following a refined, tested formula that Gretsch has been using for years for several of their excellent drum kits. As such, this Renown Maple set features the characteristic, classic Gretsch sound. Each shell is equipped with 30-degree rounded bearing edges, which allow for optimal drumhead resonance and ensure a clear sound with a sharp attack. Additionally, the shells are fitted with stylish chrome hardware.

Floating toms

In order to guarantee the best sound possible, Gretsch has decided not to mount the tom holders on the bass drum, but to include a set of tom arms and clamps that enable you to mount the toms on a cymbal stand or a drum rack. Leaving the bass drum intact and able to produce a full-bodied sound, the toms are suspended in a floating manner that allows them to resonate freely. The result: the characteristic sound that Gretsch drum kits are known and loved for. The toms can be quickly and easily connected to the suspension system by means of special Gretsch T-wing screws. The shells of this Renown Maple set are equipped with die-cast hoops, ensuring an open sound and allowing for effortless rim clicks and rim shots.
