Gretsch's Renown Maple series has been modelled after the classic USA Custom Range. Part of the Renown Maple 2014 series, this four-piece RN1-E8246-VP Renown Maple 2014 shell set produces an amazing, classic sound that takes you straight back to the 1950s. A top-quality 22-inch bass drum, 10 and 12-inch toms and a 16-inch floor tom treat you to the authentic Gretsch sound.

Appearance

Gretsch has provided the RN1-E8246-VP shells with a pearl white finish and fitted them with chrome hardware, creating a traditional, vintage look. The interior of the shells has been treated with a Silver Sealer lacquer that really benefits their tone. In order to ensure the same unique Gretsch sound for each individual drum kit, the manufacturer uses a specific wood composition for its shells. For the Renown Maple series Gretsch has chosen 7-ply maple, resulting in rugged shells with a fantastic tone.

Details

During the development process, a great deal of attention has been paid to the details of the Gretsch Renown Maple series. The shells, for instance, have been equipped with 30-degree bearing edges, which reduce the contact between the included Remo drumheads and the shells to a minimum, allowing for excellent resonance and a clear sound projection. The hardware has also been given an update; the lightweight tom brackets have modern look and the die-cast hoops ensure that the drumheads retain their tuning at all times. Classic details, such as the lugs and the badges on the shells, complete the wonderful vintage look of the drum kit. With this RN1-E8246-VP Renown Maple Vintage Pearl shell set, Gretsch has once again combined traditional looks and modern technology to great effect!
