Gretsch Drums RN1-J483-SB Renown Maple 2014 Satin Black shell set

General

This three-piece shell set delivers that typical Gretsch sound. Small wonder, as the Renown Maple series it's part of has been based on the popular Custom series. The RN1-J483-SB drum kit consists of an 18-inch bass drum, a 12-inch tom and a 14-inch floor tom - moderate sizes that make the set ideal for lighter music styles. Both the shells and the wooden hoops of the bass drum have a matte Satin Black lacquer finish that enhances the classic appearance of the kit.

Gretsch Drums: RN1-J483-SB

The shells of the Renown Maple series have been made of six plies of North American maple and treated with an interior Silver Sealer coating, ensuring a full tone with a particularly warm low end. The excellent sound is further enhanced by 30-degree bearing edges that maximise contact between the shells and the included Remo drumheads, guaranteeing great explosive power.

Gretsch Tom Suspension

The bass drum of the set - fitted with telescopic legs - is a stand-alone model, which means the tom must be mounted on a stand. To that end, the shell set comes with a clamp with a ball joint, which allows for the attachment of the Gretsch Tom Suspension (GTS), a special system that enables the tom to resonate freely. Die-cast hoops keep the drumheads of the tom and floor tom perfectly tuned, while practical T-shaped screws lend an authentic touch to the legs of the drums.
