Gretsch Drums RN1-J483-SOP Renown Maple 2014 shell set

General

Gretsch have based the Renown Maple series on their successful Custom series. The highly responsive Renown Maple shells still deliver the typical Gretsch sound, but have been equipped with modern hardware. This particular configuration, which consists of an 18-inch stand-alone bass drum, a 12-inch tom and a 14-inch floor tom, is ideal for jazz drummers. Both the shells and the decorative strips that adorn the wooden bass drum hoops have a shiny grey and black Silver Oyster Pearl finish.

Optimal sound

The shells of the set consist of six plies of North American maple and have been finished with an interior Silver Sealer coating, resulting in an explosive, full sound with a warm low end. To ensure an optimal tone, the 30-degree bearing edges maximise contact between the shells and the included Remo drumheads.

Special tom suspension system

A special Gretsch Tom Suspension system suspends the tom from four different points without requiring any holes, and allows it to resonate freely. The die-cast hoops of the toms keep the drumheads optimally tightened, while the special T-shaped screws of the tom holder, bass drum and floor tom legs add a stylish touch to the kit.
