The Ludwig LSS240XME Signet 105 TeraBeat in Macassar Ebony is a 4-piece shell set made in Ludwig's US factory. As such, you can expect a well-constructed set of drums that offer a high-quality sound. Still, Ludwig managed to keep the price at a much lower level that you'd expect of a drum kit of this quality. That's because the final stages of assembly are to be performed by you. The kit comes with all the necessary materials, and the whole thing should take you no more than half an hour to put together. It's rewarding work too, because when you're done, you'll have a great-sounding shell set with a stylish dark brown Macassar Ebony finish!

LSS240XME: setup

Each TeraBeat kit in the Signet 105 series consists of four drums: a 22" bass drum, 10 and 12" toms and a 16" floor tom. All shells are made of 100% North American maple, the same wood that Ludwig uses in their high-end drum kits! Together with the 45-degree bearing edges and Ludwig Weathermaster drumheads, these shells create an impressive warm sound. Furthermore, the shells are left to resonate freely thanks to the Triad suspension mounts that hold the floor tom legs and suspend the toms.

Assemble!

Assembling a Signet 105 series shell set is an absolute breeze, and according to Ludwig, you'll need little more than about half an hour to set it all up. First, you snap the highly innovative and aptly named Insta-Lite Snap-in lugs into the pre-drilled lug mounts in the shells, after which you mount the Triad brackets using the included drum key. After that simple process, all that's left is to mount the hoops and drumheads using the tension rods. All these parts are also very lightweight, meaning that transporting these drums won't be such a hassle.
