The Tama Starclassic Bubinga in Champagne Sparkle is a gorgeous, three-piece shell set with chrome hardware, in a configuration that consists of a 22 x 16-inch bass drum, a 12 x 8-inch tom and a 16 x 16-inch floor tom.
Tama Starclassic Bubinga Champagne Sparkle: bright sound and aggressive attack
The shells are made of 9 plies of African bubinga. On average, bubinga is 53% harder than maple and birch, allowing it to create a bright sound with an aggressive attack, combined with a deep, rich low-end. The die-cast hoops make sure your heads stay in tune and they are helped by the stainless steel Hold Tight cup-washers with their rubber rings. These washers make sure that there's a constant tension between the tension rods and the hoop, so that tension rods won’t come loose and tension is always preserved.
Furthermore, the kit is equipped with a Star-Cast tom mounting system, which allows for maximum resonance and improved shell stability. The streamlined design of this tom mount also makes it easier to find the perfect position for your tom. To help speed up the process of setting up your drum kit, Tama introduced the Quick-Lock tom brackets, that allow you to quickly set up your toms exactly the way you want them, without the need for separate memory locks.
Other hardware
The virgin bass drum in this Bubinga shell set comes with Starclassic Bubinga claw hooks. These hooks are fitted with a rubber lining, which essentially reduces the chance of them damaging the wooden hoops to zero. For optimal tone and resonance, Tama chose to fit the bass drum with their Air Cushioned bass drum legs. These have a special air chamber, that prevents the sound and sustain of your bass drum disappearing into the ground, while also being shock-absorbent. The Tama BG32RZS-CHS Starclassic Bubinga Champagne Sparkle comes with Evans drumheads.
Tips or comments about this product
Please note:
- The stands and cymbals have only been pictured for illustrative purposes and will not be included.
- A virgin bass drum is a bass drum without tom mounts, which means you'll have to mount your tom on a separate stand or tom holder. This type of setup enables you to mount your cymbals at a lower position.
