This 5-piece Tama Superstar Hyperdrive Maple shell set includes two rack toms, two floor toms and a bass drum. The rack toms are relatively shallow which means that there's more room to experiment with the set-up. You won't even lose out on sound because the toms actually sound surprisingly much like the ones in slightly more expensive Tama series. Widely deployable in terms of style, these Superstar shells are an especially great match for jazz and rock playing styles.

The shells in this Superstar Hyperdrive set are all made of maple. For the 7mm thick, 22 x 18" bass drum, Tama used a total of eight plies while both the 10 x 6.5" and 12 x 7" rack toms and the 14 x 12" and 16 x 14" floor toms feature six plies and are 5mm thick. Thanks to their somewhat unusual and shallow design, the toms deliver more punch, improved response and faster attack and just like the bass drum, come fitted with Black Nickel hardware and finished in Seafoam Green.

The Tama Iron Cobra 200 Hardware Pack

Naturally, when the doorbell finally rings to let you know your Tama shell set has arrived, you want everything set up as quickly as possible so you can start playing. Thankfully, Tama understand this and include an Iron Cobra 200 hardware pack consisting of two cymbal stands with arms, a snare drum stand, a hi-hat stand and a single bass drum pedal. The rack toms are suspended from the cymbal stands via the Star-Cast mounting system and two Tama MC69 tom holders and, since all of the shells are outfitted with Sound Bridge High-Tension lugs, black nickel-plated Die-Cast hoops and Power Craft II drum heads, you'll be up and drumming in no time!
