Yamaha Absolute Hybrid Maple shell set 1 Classic Walnut

General

The Absolute Hybrid Maple is a whole new series by Yamaha. This set is comprised of two types of wood for a fantastic sound. To be specific, it is made of 6-ply maple with a layer of wenge hardwood in the middle. Maple is known for its warm sound, and if you add wenge's extra boost of projection to that, you have an excellent hybrid kit! This shell set consists of a 22-inch bass drum, two toms measuring 10 and 12 inches each and a 16-inch floor tom. This configuration is known as the American rock configuration, and you'll probably recognize it from many of your favourite bands. With its dark brown Classic Walnut finish, it will be a chic addition to any band.

Dynamic

Yamaha is constantly busy with innovation, and with this Absolute Hybrid Maple line, they've come up with a set that is suited for every drummer. Whether you like to play hard or soft, dynamic differences are highlighted beautifully with this set. You can count on an expressive tone with plenty of subtle nuances, and because the bass drum hoop is fashioned from wood, you can expect a nice, warm sound. Conversely, the tom hoops are made of die-cast aluminium (3 mm) for an open tom sound.

Tom holders

Yamaha has equipped the Absolute Hybrid Maple shell set with the third generation of the patented YESS tom mounting system. This innovative system allows the toms to resonate freely for an optimal sound. Additionally, Yamaha has made the base of the holder extra light and given it a small footprint to allow the bass drum shell to freely resonate. The tom bearing edges have 45-degree angles for a balanced sound. Yamaha designed the bass drum bearing edges to have 30-degree angles for a deeper more powerful tone.
