This Absolute Hybrid Maple shell set has the famous rock configuration, consisting of a 22-inch bass drum, two toms at 10 and 12 inches each, and a deep 16-inch floor tom. It has that excellent rock / 80's glam look too, with its Orange Sparkle finish, and will definitely get itself noticed on stage with its chrome hardware. All you have to do is add your favourite cymbals, get the matching snare drum and order a hardware package, and you'll be ready to rock!

Dynamic

Yamaha spent a good 3 years working on this new Absolute Hybrid Maple series, with the goal of offering an expressive drum set that is suited for every drummer. Luckily for drummers everywhere, Yamaha's hard work paid off, and this excellent dynamic set is the fruit of their labour. From the softest touch to the hardest attack, everything you play will come through clearly. These outstanding dynamics have the 7-ply shells to thank for that. 6 layers of maple surround a layer of wenge hardwood, and combine to produce a warm sound with plenty of attack that is suited for every musical application. The contact between the drum heads and the bearing edges is also optimised, thanks to the 30-degree curved bearing edges on the bass and 45-degree bearing edges of the toms - all precisely measured for the best sound possible.

Tom mounting

Thanks to the patented YESS tom mounting system, the toms hang freely in their holder. This means that they have the freedom to resonate, so that you get a sound with better sustain. Your volume is also less dampened thanks to this system. Finally, the tom holder foot is extra lightweight so the bass drum has optimal resonance. With the Hybrid Maple series Yamaha delivers a high quality set ideal for advanced and professional drummers.
