Yamaha Absolute Hybrid Maple shell set 2 Jade Green Sparkle

General

With the Absolute Hybrid Maple, Yamaha delivers a drum set with excellent quality. The model is based on Yamaha's flagship PHX series, and this hybrid edition features 6 layers of maple with a layer of wenge in the middle for a great hybrid sound. The tropical wenge hardwood combined with the warm maple offers an open sound with excellent dynamic reach. For a fun finish, this model is offered with the Jade Green Sparkle finish. Additionally, this shell set has a fusion configuration, and thus consists of a 20-inch bass drum, two toms measuring 10 and 12 inches each and a 14-inch floor tom.

Rounded bearing edges

With this instrument you can enjoy crystal clear musicality no matter how hard or soft you play. One of the ingenious ways that Yamaha found to optimise the sound of the shells was to round off the bearing edges. The tom bearing edges feature a 45-degree angle for improved drum head contact and thus better sound projection, and the bass drum bearing edge is set at a 30-degree angle for richer lows. Die-cast hoops made of 3mm-thick aluminium ensure the open sound of this set.

New design

Mounting your toms is easy with the new YESS III system. There is no metal-to-shell contact, so your toms can resonate freely, and because the footprint has been kept small, it has a minimal impact on the resonance of the bass drum. Yamaha has also revamped the design of the clamps so that they're smaller and equipped with a handy screw for easily removing the drum head. Speaking of drum heads, they're all from the top manufacturer, Remo. Remo Clear Emperor drum heads are featured on the toms, and lightly dampened Powerstroke 3s are featured on the bass drum.
