The Absolute Hybrid Maple shell set Orange Sparkle is a fusion shell set with hybrid shells. This outstanding orange set consists of a 20-inch bass drum, 10 and 12-inch toms and a 14-inch floor tom. Yamaha has been known as a top drum manufacturer for years, and after having worked on this Absolute Hybrid Maple series for three years, we can safely say they've outdone themselves. This Absolute Hybrid Maple line is based on Yamaha's flagship PHX series, and the new, unique features offer a sound full of warmth and expression.

Wood types

The 7-ply shells consists of two wood types. In the middle you'll find a layer of tropical wenge, and it is surrounded by 6 layers of American maple. This hybrid combination ensures that each shell has a uniquely warm sound. Furthermore, nuances in your playing will also shine through better, thanks to the rounded bearing edge design. Such a design creates optimal contact between the shells and the drum heads. Another interesting feature is the different number of air vents per shell. This number depends on the size of the shell, and works to optimise the sustain. Overall, this is a shell set with excellent projection and playing comfort.

Clamps

The hook lug system ensures that the clamps stay firmly in place. Even with high-tension tuning, this system will perform optimally. The clamps themselves are also strategically placed so they won't vibrate while you play, causing unwanted noise.
