This flexible high-quality Yamaha Absolute Hybrid Maple shell set in Autumn Red was presented during the 2014 Musikmesse, where it was lauded for its expressive character. With a fusion configuration, this set consists of a 20-inch bass drum, two toms measuring 10 and 12 inches each and a 14-inch floor tom, and is the ideal set for drummers who love to experiment with sound.

Tropical hardwood

During the three years that they spent developing this series, Yamaha put a lot of work into designing a unique wood composition for these shells. Thanks to the combination of 6 layers of maple wood with a single wenge wood layer in the middle, the shells produce a warm, full sound. The wenge hardwood adds great projection to the mix, and maple has already been used for years in many top-quality drum sets because of its warm, rich timbre. Every dynamic difference can be heard clearly, so your audience won't miss a single detail of your playing. It's safe to say that Yamaha has outdone themselves again, because this truly is a setup that allows you to enjoy a lot of musicality with a balanced sound.

Absolute Hybrid Maple: balanced sound

Hardware is an important part of any shell set, and that's why Yamaha chose to equip these toms with high-quality die-cast aluminium hoops. Additionally, you'll be able to enjoy Remo drum heads, which combine optimally with the shells, thanks to the rounded bearing edges. To provide good balance, Yamaha gave the toms 45-degree bearing edges, and for a full bass sound they equipped the bass drum with 30-degree bearing edges. Furthermore, the unique YESS III tom mounting system allows for optimal tom resonance. Finally, the number of air vents differs per drum size for the best timbre and sustain possible. All of these small details come together to produce the warm, expressive, stunning sound of this fusion shell set.
