Due to the compact dimensions, these mics are ideal for live venues, but the sound quality is so good, they'll also serve in the studio. Each microphone features a high-grade condenser capsule that supports an outstanding transient response, so no detail is in danger of getting lost. The frequency response is also near-enough linear, leaving the natural timbre of the kit pure and uncoloured, and you never need to worry about these microphones starting to distort. They're specifically designed to handle an astronomical sound pressure level, so the hardest of rim-shots will never be an issue.

The Earthworks DK7 Gen 2: A Complete Set

This set includes two SR25 Gen 2 microphones that can serve as your overheads. These mics do precisely what they're designed to do: capture a lifelike total-image of the drum kit. For more focus, you get a set of four DM20 Gen 2 microphones, each with a clip so they can be securely mounted onto the snare and toms and, to finish, you get a DM6 microphone for the bass drum. This model very simply registers the punch and character of the kick you're miking up - and does it all without a hint of distortion.
