The Evans DADK magnetic drum key can be simply stuck to the one of the tension rods of your snare or floor tom where it'll remain until you need it without resonating along in the meantime. That said, if you regularly pound out high-volume beats, it's not recommended to leave the drum key on the shell since the many shocks may cause the magnet to lose its grip. In addition, the Evans DADK magnetic drum key is compatible with all tension rods except for original Tama tension rods which are too narrow.
