General
The coated 14-inch Evans Genera HD Dry snare drumhead consists of a 5mil outer ply and a 7.5mil inner ply of film, with a 2mil overtone control ring on the bottom. This control ring acts as a subtle damping ring, muting excessive overtones and controlling sustain. Furthermore, this snare drum batter head features a number of tiny precision-drilled dry vents, which aid the control ring in optimising your sound. With the coated 14-inch Genera HD Dry batter head, your snare drum will sound brand new again!

Ik heb mijn 14" snare hiervan voorzien, samen met een Evans S14H30 14 inch Hazy 300 resonantievel.
Ik heb alsnog een demplint eronder gedaan, want ik wil helemaal geen resonantie! En dat is gelukt.
Grappig die gaatjes, al weet ik niet of dat nou echt iets doet.
Ik heb het vel lekker strak staan, een vrij hoge toon, gebruik het bij een dweilband. Zelf erg tevreden over het geluid, al is dat heel persoonlijk.

Super goed vel, al een aantal keer besteld. Gaat lekker lang mee, vaak geen extra demping meer nodig dankzij de gaten. Makkelijk te stemmen, laat mijn goedkope snare geweldig klinken

Een vel die doet waar het voor staat; een droge sound, waarbij de boventonen voor een deel zijn weg gefilterd. Ik houd ervan (boventonen), dus voor mij is het iets 'te'. Versterkt houd je wel een mooie crack over, dus als dat je sound is? Kopen maar! Duurzaam ten top, zeer solide doordat het dubbellaags is. Naar mijn idee meer geschikt voor hardere rockmuziek.

Ik had eerst een evans hydraulic op mijn snare en die klonk echt fantastisch. Maar na een tijdje was ik overschakeld naar een remo powerstroke77 klonk goed en felle attack. Maar toen... kocht de evans genera HD dry en was het einde verhaal voor de powerstroke77. Conclusie evans is gewoon het beste drumvel merk dat er bestaat. Ik zal geen remo drumvellen meer aanschaffen in de toekomst.

Ik gebruik de Evans Genera HD Dry al jaren voor mijn snare! De attack is inderdaad zeer fel zonder teveel overtonen en sustain. Ik speel rock tot metal. Ik hou ervan als ik met mijn snare scherp door de mix kan komen, en dat lukt hier prima mee! Je kunt het vel ook lekker hoog stemmen.
Ik vind het vel gemakkelijk te stemmen, maar dat ligt misschien ook aan mijn snare (Pearl Mahogany Classic Limited edition). Ik kan er in ieder geval een geweldig geluid uithalen!
De duurzaamheid vind ik prima! Ik vervang het vel ongeveer 1x per jaar als de coating echt begint te slijten. Ik repeteer +/- 5 keer per maand + een aantal optredens.
Ik vind het vel gemakkelijk te stemmen, maar dat ligt misschien ook aan mijn snare (Pearl Mahogany Classic Limited edition). Ik kan er in ieder geval een geweldig geluid uithalen!
