The Vic Firth SD2 Bolero maple drumsticks are best suited for subtle drumming, for example for light jazz and studio and orchestra sessions. They're perfectly balanced and have a round wood tip, allowing for a subtle, detailed sound and giving you plenty of control. Furthermore, they're highly durable and offer a great deal of grip.

SD2 Bolero from the American Custom Maple Series

The various models from Vic Firth's American Custom Maple series are versatile enough to handle a wide variety of musical applications. These drumsticks were mainly designed for students, as well as jazz and rock band drummers, and as they're made of maple, they're highly durable and lightweight, while also allowing for excellent rebound.

Prima stok die goed in hand ligt en lekker speelt. Helaas af en toe een niet goed gecheckt exemplaar dat na een paar slagen al breekt. Niet gewend van Vic Firth..

Wrote the following about Vic Firth SD2 Drum Sticks, Maple (Bolero)

Goede duurzame stokken. Bij mij gaat een setje zelf bij intensief gebruik meestal een paar jaar mee. Het zijn behoorlijk dikke en zware stokken. Ik speel mijn rudiments en oefeningen het liefste met deze stokken om vervolgens voor het muzikale werk hele lichte en dunne stokken te gebruiken. Dan kun je ineens twee keer zo snel spelen! De sterke ronde punt van de stok geeft een duidelijke ping op bekkens en is nauwelijks kapot te krijgen. Na lang gebruik merk je wel dat de punt iets platter wordt door alle klappen, dat is meestal het moment voor mij om een nieuw setje aan te schaffen.

Ik zweer in iddels bij de SD2. Lekker dik maar met een goede balans.
Zowel voor gaasvellen als het echte werk heel fijn. De prijs bij Bax is scherp.

Topstok!

Dit is één van dé stokken die geadviseerd wordt om goed je drumrudimemts te oefenen.

Een directe rebound en dikke stok die goed in de hand ligt, perfect in balans.

Merkbaar anders dan een stok van hickory.

Prijstechnisch ook een zeer interessante stok.

Sad news from the United States: Everett 'Vic' Firth, founder of the renowned Vic Firth brand of drumsticks, has passed away at age 85. This was announced on the Vic Firth Company's web site on July 27th, 2015. Everett Firth was a pioneer in the world of drumsticks and mallets, and ever since the 1960s he's been setting the bar for the companies that followed.
