General
Matt Halpern is known, among others, as the drummer of the band Periphery. For his loud and technical playing style, he was looking for the right combination of cymbals for a stack for a long time. Together with Meinl, he created a set called the Double Down Stack for the Artis Concept series. This involves laying a 17-inch top on top of an 18-inch bottom. Because you can also flip the bottom cymbal, you have a variable sound. You can use the stack to cut through a mix. or, on the contrary, in a musical, dynamic setting.
