General
The DR Strings DBSMB5-45 Black Dragon Light is a set of strings for 5-string electric bass guitars with a multiscale scale length. The strings combine a round core with stainless steel windings and DR Strings’ black K3 coating. Thanks to Accurate Core Technology, the strings feel smooth and respond evenly to the touch. The set is designed to reproduce both low and high notes clearly, with controlled bass response and a bright, defined tone. The Light version, with a gauge range of .045 to .125 inches, is intended for bassists seeking comfortable playability.
Bright tone with black K3 coating
The stainless steel windings deliver a bright tone with clear articulation and sufficient presence in the mix. The black K3 coating protects the strings and helps them retain their tone for longer. This finish also gives the set a striking, black appearance. The combination of coating and stainless steel is designed for bassists who want to maintain a consistent tone during regular playing. The round core contributes to balanced string tension, whilst Accurate Core Technology enhances the strings’ response. This ensures notes remain clear and defined, even when playing low notes.
