General
The Ibanez TMB420B Talman Bass has both the charm of a classic offset body and the versatility and power of modern electronics, where the okoume body shapes a robust foundation sound with an excellent low-to-mid-frequency balance, while the satin-gloss finish boosts the aesthetics as well as the playing feel. The bolt-on neck has been carved out of roasted maple, which is highly resistant to big temperature and humidity shifts, and comes finished with a TMB4 profile and an ebonol fretboard that only increases the stability more. Add the 9.44" fretboard radius and the 20 medium frets and you count on superb playability, whether you like to drop fat grooves or play smooth bass lines.
The TMB420B: Versatile PJ-Based Sound
The electronics of this Talman Bass have been specifically configured for maximum versatility. The Dynamix P and J pickups supply a broad selection of full-and-bright PJ-based sounds, while the Ibanez Custom Electronics preamp, balance knob and 2-band EQ controls hand you control over the basses and trebles, allowing you to dial in the perfect custom mix. At the same time, the B10 bridge and open-gear tuners work together to guarantee solid tuning stability and optimum intonation, finishing off a bass that can take on almost any style.
