Stripping everything right back to set up a solid four-string for the student bassist, the short-scale Squier Bronco Bass takes a Fender classic and shaves down the weight, making it more comfortable than ever. The solid poplar body isn't just ultra-lightweight but ultra-thin, while the reduced 30 inch scale length doesn't just mean that this model is physically shorter, but pushes the frets closer together to ease fret reach and lower the string tension to make holding notes that bit easier.
The Squier Sonic Bronco Bass: The Wee Beast
The Squier edition of the Bronco comes loaded with one single-coil pickup with a ceramic magnet. This classic setup lays down a sweet and punching bass sound that can be bent to your will via the set of master tone and master volume controls. Smooth playability is also assured by the C-profile of the maple neck, which combines with a super-narrow 38.1mm-wide nut to support fast and nimble fret navigation and complete a more-than-solid beginner model or backup bass.

La couleur "Tahitian Coral" est vraiment très réussie, elle est un peu moins flashy en vrai que sur les photos. L'ergonomie est bonne et la finition est plus que correcte pour un instrument de ce prix. Le travail sur les bords de frettes est tout à fait correct également.
Les mécaniques et le chevalet ont été améliorés depuis la première version de la Bronco, c'est un très bon point.
Deux ombres au tableau cependant : le micro qui est utilisable mais assez fade et qui sonne franchement flou dans le bas du spectre, et surtout le sillet ! Les gorges d'origine ne permettent pas du tout de régler une action basse ; j'ai dû les retailler dans de grandes proportions pour corriger cela. Pour ceux qui ne savent pas faire ou qui n'ont pas les limes adaptées, il faudra passer par la case luthier. Une fois cet ajustement fait, la basse est devenue très facile et agréable à jouer.
