Since this pack of D'Addario NYXL1152 electric guitar strings is a hybrid, 'Medium Top Heavy Bottom', the lower strings are extra thick, making for increased tension, stable tone and powerful sound in standard tunings. When drop-tuned, the strings fall to a normal tension with a heavier bottom making this a highly versatile pack for guitarists who prefer a reliably tight feel, whatever the tuning.

D'Addario NYXL Strings: Better and Faster Tuning

The NYXL strings from D'Addario are produced in New York using an entirely fresh production technique that has since stretched the boundaries of the modest electric guitar string. The high carbon steel that has been used is 20 to 40% stronger than strings of a comparable thickness, giving these strings a much longer life-span and less fear of snapping when the tension is shifted between tunings. This strength also raises the overall tuning stability by an incredible 131% and makes tuning in general a much quicker process.
