I bought those strings to make an experiment; some time ago I bought a fretless guitar (Dimavery), but seems that strings are to thin (sound is not bright enough) so, I decided to put fatter strings and chose those Rotosound 8-string set ... My fretless guitar has just 6 strings, therefore I used lower 6 strings (from 17-74).. now sounds really great, very bright and harmonic rich, sounds like a real fretless bass...
Because guitar has a floating FloydRose, havier gauge causes more tension and needed to remove one spring to bring tension between strings and tremolo in balance...
