Guthrie Govan is known as a versatile guitarist with incredible technical skills. He places high demands on the instruments he plays, and knows exactly what kind of sound and feel he wants. His collaboration with Charvel has resulted in this second version of his signature model, a high-quality electric guitar with an ash body. The back and fretboard are made of flamed maple and the whole guitar has a classy caramelised finish that looks good enough to eat!
Guthrie Govan Signature HSH: versatile
This Charvel is not for speed-demons alone. Thanks to the Charvel Custom MF pickups and comprehensive tone control, it offers a wide tonal palette. The sound is open and expressive, and the guitar reacts well to the dynamics in your playing. The American Charvel locking tremolo enables you to add all the vibrato effects you want and the integrated Tremol-No for fixing the bridge offers extra stability.
Bridge and pickups
Govan armed this guitar with a compound radius fretboard, which means it runs from 12 inches at the top to 16 inches at the body. As well as playing comfort, the brand also paid atention to user-friendliness. This Charvel is equipped with locking tuners and features dome-style knobs with Luminlay, so you can see what you're doing even if you're on a dark stage. Last but not least, the Charvel Guthrie Govan Signature HSH comes complete with a hard case.

Sometimes it's like playing a fretless.
The Tremel-No can occasionally resonate if you're playing unplugged with it locked but that's about it.
I'm sure that there are other guitars out there that play similar to this one but I'm not reviewing them. Let's just say you'd have a lot of trouble finding one 'better' from a playability standpoint, but the rest is subjective and down to personal preference.
