We already knew that Charvel manufactures high-quality guitars. With the Pro Mod San Dimas 2H FR Tobacco Burst, the company once again affirms their great reputation. The Tobacco Burst finish simply looks stunning, especially in combination with the quilted maple veneer top and matching maple neck. This electric guitar offers more than just good looks, though; sporting two Seymour Duncan humbuckers and a Floyd Rose tremolo system, it produces a unique sound. Finally, an innovative spoke wheel allows you to adjust the truss rod using nothing but a hex key.

The pickups of the Pro Mod San Dimas 2H FR Tobacco Burst were mounted directly onto the guitar's body without any springs for resonance. As a result, you're treated to an incredibly high output and virtually endless sustain - a match made in heaven if you turn up the gain. This Charvel guitar has a Seymour Duncan '59 humbucker near the bridge and a Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 near the neck. The two potentiometers and three-way switch seem like a modest set of controls, but they have a few tricks up their sleeves. The volume knob, for instance, features a push/pull function that functions as a coil splitter, turning your humbuckers into single-coils. Meanwhile, the tone knob effectively takes itself out of the circuit if you turn it all the way up, making sure no sound is lost.

From high to low

This Pro Mod San Dimas guitar has a compound-radius neck, which means the fretboard is curved along the first frets, but flattens out as you move up the neck.
