General

The iconic single-cut design of the ESP LTD EC-256 is shaped by a mahogany body with a flamed maple top, a thin 3-piece mahogany U-profile neck with a rosewood fretboard and two powerful ESP Designed LH-150 passive humbuckers. The deep and rich sonic arsenal that this model wields will meet the demands of any playing style while the set-neck construction grants access to every one of the twenty-two extra-jumbo frets. All the way up to the vintage-style binding that outlines the body and headstock, you're getting a level of build quality that would usually come at twice the price.

The ESP LTD EC-256FM DBSB Dark Brown Sunburst

The two-humbucker configuration is partnered with two push-pull volume pots to temper the output and flip the tone from overdriven, straight-up rock or metal to the warm character needed to voice blues and jazz, expanding the versatility of this axe. And, since it comes pre-loaded with a TOM-style bridge and a set of LTD sealed tuners, you're assured of consistent tuning and intonation as well as solid and variable sound.

LTD Guitars by ESP

In 1975, Hisatake Shibuya opened his Electric Sound Products shop in Japan, where his reputation for churning out supreme-quality replacement parts grew so rapidly, that it wasn't long before he started hand-building his own guitars under the name ESP. In the 1980s, the brand shot to fame when ESP models made their way into the hands of massive metal bands, including Metallica. These days, ESP serves up a wide range of incredibly versatile instruments, from high-grade Custom Shop models to the affordable LTD series.

Bought this guitar on a bit of a whim. Recently bought an ESP Ltd EC-1000 with 24 frets and EMGs and loved it.

I wanted to get something with 22 frets and to potentially use as a bit of a mod platform. Also something with more of a classic look.

I must say after a full clean and set up with new strings I’m reaching for this about the same as my EC-1000. This doesn’t feel cheap by any means and has its own character. I’ll eventually change some things like adding locking tuners and a new nut. But as standard this is a great guitar and feels solid.

Pickup wise I play high gain metal. So I will likely swap these out for a bit more power but to be honest they do the job. No complaints!

Just unpacked this beauty. Well packed and de tuned. Tuned into standard E and intonation spot on. Action spot on. This is my second 256 and just sound awesome if not better than my other one ( a matte black). I’ve got only black guitars except that beautiful sunburst. Great guitar and great service. Thank you.
