ESP LTD JR-208 Javier Reyes Signature 8-string guitar

Animals as Leaders guitarist Javier Reyes helped ESP to design some rather attractive signature models, one of which is the ESP LTD JR208, a black 8-string electric guitar with ESP's stylish Mystique-type body. Note the two added bass strings (a B and an F#) of this 8-string axe and you can tell that it is fully ready for the roughest, toughest bits of metal mayhem. Moreover, the F# can naturally be tuned down to form a great octave with the E bass string and a quint with the B. To offer a pleasant tension for these strings, this guitar has a baritone scale length of 27 inches.

JR-208: a wide range

An 8-string electric guitar is the perfect vessel for Javier Reyes’ outrageous guitar riffs in progressive metal band Animals as Leaders (with Tosin Abasi) and in his own project Mestis. As he's influenced greatly by classical music, he prefers to play his instrument as if it were a piano, allowing for an incredibly wide range that goes even beyond the expressive capabilities of a 7-string electric guitar. Adding to the creative expansion are the two octaves of frets on the LTD JR-208. Thanks to the double cutaway, you can easily reach the highest frets.
