Guitar legend Eddie van Halen is not just famous for his guitar playing, but also for his exceptional guitars with their signature striped bodies. The first guitar Eddie ever built was called the Frankenstrat - a combination of Frankenstein and Stratocaster, as it was made up of parts of various guitars - and featured a white body with black stripes, added by the master himself.

EVH Striped Series electric guitar in black and white: a solid body

This electric guitar features a basswood solid body and a quartersawn maple neck with a vertical grain to prevent it from getting warped. In addition to a truss rod, the neck of the guitar is equipped with graphite reinforcement, which makes it stronger, more stable and less sensitive to external influences like moisture and temperature. The neck is fitted with a maple fingerboard with 22 frets and black position markers. The compound radius makes it just as easy to play chords on the curved lower part of the neck as to bend strings and play solos further up, where the neck becomes flatter.

Tremolo

The EVH Striped white/black electric guitar has a white volume knob (labelled tone) and is equipped with a Floyd Rose locking nut and an EVH D-Tuna locking tremolo system. The D-Tuna is a remarkable system that enables you to quickly adjust your low E string to a D tuning. The tremolo is accurate and stable, ensuring your guitar stays in tune. This white-black edition of the EVH Striped electric guitar is the only model in the series that has a jack connector located on the top of the body and a black pickguard.
