The Frankenstein is without a shred of doubt Eddie van Halen's most iconic guitar. After the release of the premium-priced Frankstrat in 2013, EVH now present a more attainable version of the Striped Series Frankie guitar. Luckily, all the quintessential characteristics of the original model have been carried over, which means you're getting a guitar that's been similarly coated in a realistic-looking satin-gloss lacquer. The pickup cutouts are clearly visible, with the bridge slot fitted with a Wolfgang humbucker while the neck is home to a disconnected single-coil to create the same visual effect.

The Striped Series Frankie: Roasted Maple Neck with Played-In Feel

While it's no broken piece of vinyl this time, on top of the partial pickguard sits a single volume control covered by a tone control cap. After having received a special oil-finish treatment, the roasted maple neck was bolted on the body and it's only logical that EVH have outfitted Frankie with a dive-only Floyd Rose locking tremolo bridge with matching R3 locking nut to accommodate those well-known deep tone bends while maintaining stable tuning. Using the attached D-Tuna, you can drop the E-string to a D while playing and, to assist you with your rhythms and leads, the fretboard has a 12 to 16-inch compound radius.
