Back in the '70s, when Eddie Van Halen took a chisel to his ST-style guitar in order to mount a humbucker, he started a revolution. Now, many decades later, he's still striving to create the perfect instrument. The EVH Wolfgang Ivory USA is a production model of the guitar Eddie plays himself - you won't get much closer to the original than this. In fact, the product specifications are exactly the same as those of the guitar virtuoso's very own instrument. The truss rod, for instance, is reinforced with graphite for unparalleled stability, and the Floyd Rose features the D-Tuna system Eddie developed himself in order to allow for a quick switch to Drop D and back again.

The EVH Wolfgang Ivory USA's lightweight alder body delivers a solid core sound, and its thick alder top adds a delightful sparkle. The fretboard has a compound radius, making the instrument suitable for tight riffs as well as lightning-quick fingerwork on the higher frets. The use of ebony enhances the fretboard's playing ease, and adds the necessary warmth to the guitar's sound. This EVH guitar's Ivory finish looks stunning in combination with the ebony fretboard and zebra pickups, ensuring a pretty picture too.

Two EVH Zebra Wolfgang pickups - mounted directly onto the body to increase resonance and sustain - guarantee an incredibly powerful output. Furthermore, the guitar features a double locking EVH Floyd Rose with a D-Tuna system. EVH's eye for detail is apparent from the beautiful block inlays and the two MXR-style controls, which both have their own typical resistance. The tone control is fairly stiff which allows accurate adjustments that won't be moved accidentally while the volume control offers less resistance so that you can quickly and easily adjust the level. That's handy if you like to to determine the distortion level of your guitar using the volume control.
