General

The first thing you notice about the Meteora HH from Fender's Alternate Reality series is its eye-catching offset body. This new model looks back to the past as well as forward to the future. It has a retro-modern design that's ergonomic and combines grace with power. The 3-ply pickguard is shaped to complement the body beautifully. Naturally, you'll want to keep a guitar as good as this safe which is why it comes with a deluxe gig bag.

Alternate Reality Meteora HH: extensive sound possibilities

The Meteora's sound comes mainly from its solid alder body and is delivered to your amplifier though two fat-sounding Fender Player Series Alnico 2 passive humbucker pickups. They're capable of delivering warm clean tones, but are perfect for music that demands overdrive and heavy distortion too. The push/pull tone potentiometer splits the coils giving you more traditional Fender tones as well. The volume potentiometer also has a push/pull function, but in this case it lets you reverse the order of the volume controls allowing you to easily create beautiful swells.

Excellent playing comfort

In addition to its great look and range of sounds, the Meteora is a joy to play too. Once again, it blends tradition and modern innovation with a C profile maple neck that has a satin urethane finish and a pau ferro fretboard that has a 12-inch radius which makes it easier to press down the strings. Medium frets and the 42mm string nut width also add to the Meteora's high level of playing comfort.
