General

Even though it's called an American Standard Stratocaster, this Strat is far from standard. For one, it is armed with a humbucker that was designed by pickup guru Tim Shaw. Where it comes to humbuckers Tim Shaw is one of the Earth's greats, whose experience led to a pickup that is up there with the best of them. Thanks to this guitar’s ingenious tone circuit, you truly have the best of both worlds. And then there's the ash body. Ash is a lightweight wood type, has a balanced tone and offers great sustain. Moreover, it has an exceptionally beautiful grain that is perfect for this guitar's transparent Sienna Sunburst finish.

Construction

In addition to an ash body, this electric guitar has a maple neck that supports a 22-fret maple fretboard for extra-sparkling trebles. As you may expect from an American Standard Strat, the hardware of this specimen is of exceptionally high quality. For one, it has a renewed two-point tremolo unit with new friction-free steel bridge saddles. Together with the solid steel tremolo block, this bridge provides more tone and sustain. The neck has a comfortable modern C profile and can accurately be adjusted with the dual action truss rod - allowing for an extremely low action without being bothered by fret buzz.

Pickups

The two Custom Shop Fat '50s single-coil pickups sound deliciously fat and vintage. Furthermore, they produce a higher output than classic alnico 5 single-coils, along with slightly more bass and a milder mid range. The Shawbucker offers you the ultimate modern humbucker sound. What's more, the ingenious volume controls really give you the best of both worlds, as they automatically switch from 250K (for the single-coils) to 500K (for the humbucker), making the most of the output of both types of pickups. This means you can fully utilise the maximum humbucker power and optimally enjoy the sparkling sound of the single-coil pickups.
