General
If someone asks you to think of a classic Fender Stratocaster, chances are you get an image in your head of this model with its 3-colour Sunburst and rosewood fretboard. We bet that's what John Frusciante would think of! This American Custom NOS Stratocaster has a timeless appearance, with a few extras. The neck is made of AAA flamed maple and has a large C profile, for instance. It also has a broad string nut that measures 42.8 mm. Both of these features make the instrument more comfortable in your hands and easier to play. The pickguard, pickup covers and knobs have an aged white finish. In combination with the New Old Stock finish, this Strat looks like it's been lying around unused for years just waiting to be discovered by you!
New Old Stock: jack of all trades
Fender has used specially selected lightweight alder for the body of this guitar. This makes it easy to play even while standing, which is great for those gigs that have long set lists. Alder also has good sound properties for power and clarity in your tone. In particular, the mids and the bass tones come through well, making this Custom Shop model extremely versatile. It is fitted with two hand-wound '69 single-coil pickups and one Texas Special. The middle pickup has reverse polarity to prevent undesirable sounds in the intermediate positions. From pop and rock, to funk and blues, this American Custom Strat can do it all.
American Custom Series
With the American Custom series, Fender's famous Custom Shop brings legendary Stratocasters and Telecasters into the 21st Century. Contemporary characteristics are added with superior craftsmanship. Woods with striking natural patterns are used to guarantee you a top-quality instrument with a stunning finish. Rosewood or maple fretboards with a compound radius of 9.5 inches in the lower positions, and 12 inches in the higher positions, ensure comfort when playing. This also makes it easier to play chords low on the neck, while bends higher up the neck are easier to play too. Narrow jumbo frets also help you to play fast melodies with a pure tone. Finally, the pristine condition of the New Old Stock's urethane lacquer makes these models as easy on the eye as they are on the ears.
