General
The Stratocaster has been around for decades. The original design is still as good as ever, although Fender has continued to make small improvements here and there over the years. For the American Elite series, however, Fender has pulled out all the stops. This American Strat has locking, short-post machine heads with a redesigned string tree for better tuning stability. Even the black chrome logo and the extra comfortable contours of the body and the heel add to the quality of the American Elite Stratocaster in Olympic Pearl.
Stratocaster Olympic Pearl: sound and playing comfort
Single-coil pickups normally suffer from noise, but not any more. Fender has fitted the American Elite Stratocaster with Deluxe Noiseless pickups for an unparalleled sparkling tone. The neck profile is also pretty special with the shape going from a modern D to a C and the fretboard radius ranging from 9.5 to 14 inches. Towards the headstock, the C-profile makes chords easier to play. As you progress higher up the neck, the profile gradually changes to an oval D making it easier to play solos.
American Elite: for the real enthusiast
The American Elite series is the spiritual successor of the critically acclaimed American Deluxe series. Fender has built upon this successful foundation by adding a few extra goodies along the way. The American Elite models have a Double Action truss rod for easy adjustments. The neck and the fretboard have a compound profile for optimal playability. They feature Deluxe Noiseless pickups that set the new standard for delivering noise free Fender tones. American Elite models come with a luxury Elite case with an elegant silver-coloured interior.

Fender knows like no other that you never change a winning team. Besides a few little adjustments here and there, they usually don't mess with their successful models too much. Until now. The famous manufacturer decided to get rid of the Deluxe name and re-brand it with the slightly classier Elite moniker. Of course, this also goes with a few adjustments for the various Teles and Strats, as well as the Jazz, Precision and Dimension bass guitars.
