The American Standard Telecaster is the modern incarnation of Fender's legendary fifties classic. Though it may have the authentic Tele looks and sound, its hardware and neck construction have been improved to meet the modern guitarist's standards. Also, this natural-coloured version is a little different from the other models of the series, as it has an ash, instead of alder, body. Ash is a wood type with a beautiful grain and a full sound with tighter basses and more sparkling trebles. Naturally, this Tele features a comfortable body contour on the back so you'll be rid of any uncomfortable, rib-poking edges. This particular guitar has a rosewood fretboard that gives it slightly warmer trebles than the maple version would.

Then you're in luck, as this American Standard Telecaster is equipped with a Broadcaster and a Twisted Tele pickup from Fender's Custom Shop. The Broadcaster in the bridge position produces a neat, aggressive and biting tone that is the ideal sound in various types of music, from country cleans to hard-rock distortions. The Twisted Tele neck pickup isn't your ordinary Tele single-coil, as it is equipped with the longer alnico 5 magnets from a Jazz Bass and a nickel/silver cover instead of a brass one. It produces a fatter sound with more output, comparable to a Strat pickup. Additionally, Fender equipped this guitar with a Delta Tone no-load potentiometer. When it is fully opened, the potentiometer takes itself out of the circuit completely, resulting in a pure, clear single-coil sound that's a little rough around the edges.

Modern embodiment of a timeless classic

Even though they have a high regard for tradition, Fender often apply the latest technology to make their guitars sound and play even better. The neck of this American Standard Telecaster provides you with more playing comfort thanks to its 22 medium jumbo frets, a relatively flat 9.5-inch fretboard radius and a Bi-Flex truss rod system. This allows for a very low action without clattering or loss of strings. The comfortable hand-rolled fret edges have of course been maintained on this guitar, but the vintage-style ash tray bridge has made room for a modern version with six adjustable Strat-type saddles for optimal intonation. The bridge is attached to the body with no fewer than 5 screws, creating an even better transference to the lightweight ash body.
